The series of lectures organized for the students of the “American Studies” MA program was supplemented with another lecture. On November 21, 2022, researcher of the American Studies Center, associate professor Tigran Sargsyan gave a lecture on “European energy diversification and US involvement” for the students of the Center. T. Sargsyan presented the main motivations for the diversification of energy policy, the key directions of the US energy policy in the context of contacts with Europe. At the end of the lecture, students had the opportunity to ask questions and have a constructive discussion.
Yuliana Melkumyan: Propaganda Tools and Tricks.
The series of lectures organized by the American Studies Center YSU for the students of”American Studies” MA program continues within the framework of the “American Studies” grant program. On November 14, 2022 researcher of the American Studies Center YSU, associate professor Yuliana Melkumyan give a lecture on “Propaganda tools and tricks” for the students of the Center.The speaker presented the historical evolution of the formation and development of propaganda as a tool to influence the public consciousness, as well as the traditional and modern mechanisms of propaganda.At the end of the lecture, students were given the opportunity to ask questions and have a discussion.
Benyamin Poghosyan: the presence of the USA in the South Caucasus region and the future predictions
On October 19, 2022 American Studies Center YSU organized another seminar-discussion for students of the American Studies MA educational program. This time the speaker was Benyamin Poghosyan, a researcher at the Center for American Studies. The lecture was about the presence of the USA in the South Caucasus region and the future predictions regarding the development under the current political situation.
Ruben Elamiryan: United States Strategic Environment in the South Caucasus and Armenia: a Sight towards the Future
On October 10, 2022 Research Fellow of the American Studies Center, Head of the Department of World Politics and International Relations of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, Ruben Elamiryan gave a speech “United States Strategic Environment in the South Caucasus and Armenia: a Sight towards the Future”. The speaker presented the US-Armenia relations in the context of the South Caucasus region, considering the discussed region in the US strategic focus, and also presented the four main future scenarios of the implementation of the US regional policy in the South Caucasus. The speech was accompanied by the active participation of students.

On July 21, 2022 YSU American Studies Center director Vahagn Aglyan presented a lecture for foreign students on the topic “US policy in the region: some trends and observations”. The speaker presented factors affecting US foreign policy in the South Caucasus, such as global and regional policy trends, the Russian-Georgian war, the financial and economic crisis, etc. A discussion took place during which the students received answers to the questions they were concerned about.

On July 11, 2022 an expert meeting was held at the Center for European Studies YSU, within the framework of which the researchers of the American Studies Center YSU presented speeches to foreign students.
