U.S. Embassy’s Chief of Public Affairs Jen McAndrew participated in the opening ceremony of the international symposium “Armenia, the United States, and Regional Transformations in Eurasia: Advancing Transnational Understanding”.Yerevan State University and Arizona State University with funding from the U.S. Embassy organized the symposium. The Symposium hosted speakers with a wide range of research interests, including but to limited to American Studies Center YSU’s researchers and professors.  Researchers from Arizona State University, California State University, Northridge, as well as other academic and educational institutions from Armenia and abroad participated in the symposium. https://www.facebook.com/usembarmenia

European Energy Security in the Context of U.S. Regional Energy Policy (Researcher T.Sargsyan)

On May 19, 2022 YSU American Studies Center researcher Tigran Sargsyan presented a lecture for students of the American Studies MA program. The topic of the lecture was “European Energy Security in the Context of US Regional Energy Policy”. A rather interesting discussion took place between the students and speaker, the listeners had the opportunity to get the answers to their questions.

ASC Inaugural Board Session

The first inaugural session of the American Studies Center Board was held on October 22, 2021. The meeting was convened in an expanded format. Among the participants and invitees were the U.S. Embassy program supervisor, members of the MA program Working Group, the Center’s researchers, as well as faculty and student community representatives. The  ASC director Vahagn Aglyan presented to the participants the work done within the framework of the American Studies Program, the current achievements, as well as outlined the further activities of the ASC.
