• Yerevan State University announces a competition for researchers of the American Studies Center YSU within the framework of the <<American Studies>> grant program funded by the US Embassy in Armenia.
    The objectives of the competition are:
    ·Consolidate the research potential of American studies or related fields,
    ·Form and develop an appropriate scientific environment and promote the implementation of scientific research works in the field of American studies.
    Researchers with research interests and experience in the field of American studies or related academic disciplines are invited to participate in the competition.
    The requirements for the participants of the competition are:
    · At least five years of research experience in American Studies or related fields,
    · Availability of a scientific degree,
    · International academic research experience will be an advantage.
    To participate in the competition, it is necessary to submit:
    · Curriculum vitae including scientific publications (CV),
    · The description of the scope of scientific interests (Statement of Interests), within the maximum limit of 1500 words,
    · The example of one scientific article (or relevant text fragment) related to the field of American studies or related academic disciplines,
    · The research proposal (Research Proposal): 3-5 page definition within any of the proposed topics.
    Successful applicants will be signed a contract for a period of six months (with the possibility of additional extension).
    The expected work result of the researchers selected by the results of the competition is the publication of one scientific article in an international peer-reviewed periodical and in a scientific journal recognized by the RA Supreme Certifying Committee.

. In addition, during the term of their contracts, the researchers will conduct a series of seminars at the Center for American Studies, presenting the results of their research work.
The main (thematic) research directions are:
-Lobbying and international business/economic interests of the U.S.: the role of Diaspora.
– The U.S. strategies in promoting and sustaining the regional stability: the case of the South Caucasus.
-Shifting power balance in the Post-Soviet space in the 2020’s and the role of the United States.
-Civic groups (NGOs, Diasporas) and their influence on the U.S. foreign policies: connection to the Eurasian (post-Soviet) region.
-Policy-making in the United States: contemporary transformations.
– The United States and Global Sustainability
– American Innovations in Good Governance and Urban Development
– Navigating the Artificial Intelligence Landscape: U.S. Polices, Challenges & Emerging Trends,
– Media and strategic communication. Media and strategic communication: influence of mass communication and media on the U.S. foreign and domestic policies.
– The Arts, Freedom of Expression, and the First Amendment.
